Spreading Kindness in Kansas

At the Lucha Narrative, we are always looking for heartwarming, inspirational stories. One especially touching story appeared on Good Morning America this morning. Loring Henderson, a Lawrence, Kansas man, has spent the past two decades of his life helping homeless people in the city. After working in Washington D.C. for many years, Loring made the decision to move back to his hometown and start a shelter for the homeless. Loring's story is truly an incredible one. Check out the link below and see why the world is a better place because of people like Mr. Henderson.

Nashville in Need

By now, I'm sure most of you have heard about the devastating floods in Nashville, Tennessee. Despite not living near the area, Team Lucha is definitely thinking of fellow Nashville residents during this difficult time. If you're like us and don't live in Nashville, there are still ways you can lend your support to those in need. Here are just a few organizations that would really appreciate your donation (remember, every little bit helps):

1. The American Red Cross: You can make donations to the Middle Tennessee Red Cross by visiting nashvilleredcross.org or give them a call at 615-250-4300.

2. Second Harvest Food: Families are without food right now, and luckily, you can donate online by visiting secondharvestmidtn.org.

3. The Salvation Army: You can also donate to the Salvation Army online by visiting uss.salvationarmy.org or text the word "Flood" to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

We at Team Lucha believe in lending a hand whenever it is needed, and now is one of those times for Tennesse residents. Just a simple donation can make a big difference.

Meet the Lucha Narrative

Are you a lover or a fighter? Well, here at the Lucha Narrative, we believe you can be both.

As lovers and fighters ourselves, we at the Lucha Narrative are passionate about spreading social activism across the world. This project, which began as a labor of love in March 2009, has quickly become a heartfelt passion we hope to share with you and others who want to positively impact in their communities. Through our online retail store (which features five adorable, quirky characters with goals of their own), we are making a difference—one step at a time.

This blog is a place to learn more about how you can join our commitment to changing our communities. We'll be featuring other social activists/organizations who are taking the necessary steps to making a difference in their own communities, and we'll also feature ways that you can get involved and volunteer for the Lucha Narrative cause.

So, now that you know a little more about us, we'd like to know more about you. Send Team Lucha an email or post your comments below. We know you have what it takes to make a difference. Now is your chance to make an imprint on the world.

Welcome to the Lucha Narrative.
